- While I am uncertain why it worked after you swapped the devices, I
- may have a suggestion that might work.

- I have found that (occasionally) if you put the modem on COM 3 with an
- IRQ of 5 it will work. The only problem is that IRQ5 is sometimes used
- by the MIDI interface on the sound card.
